Sock-ret Pal Swap

The basics:

How long have you been knitting? since I was about 8 years old or eariler can't remember.....about 30 years
Do you consider yourself a beginning sock knitter, an intermediate, or have you been doing this so long you could probably knit a pair in your sleep? people ask me all the time if I knit socks in my sleep....lol

The measurements:

While your pal may ask for some additional info to ensure a great fit, please provide your shoe size, or any other fitting related info you think is pertinent. US size 8 shoe, usually I knit to 9 or 9 1/4 foot from heel to tip of toes, depends on the yarn, also prefer a more rounded toe not pointy ones, and heel flaps,
on top of foot from where the ankle starts to tip of toes 7" and around ankle about 8 1/2"-9". Feel free to ask if you need more info


(fiber related) Favorites:
What colors do you love? naturals/blues/earth/jewel tones/fall/ really not to fussy very easy to please
Do you prefer solids or variegated? either
What fibers do you most love to knit with? anything soft
Who do you consider your favorite yarn vendors? STR, Fleece artist (which never tried), Mountain colors, CTH, Opal, Brown Sheep, Rowan, Debbie Bliss, ahhh so many and can't forgot the luxury ones.. ohhhhh! Guess I've become a bit of a yarn snob!
What projects (other than socks, of course*S*) do you most enjoy knitting? sweaters, afghans, tops, starting to get into some lace knitting

(fiber related) Dislikes:

What fibers can you not stand to knit with? To wear? icthy scratchy types, lopi's, etc
What colors would you never wear? mustards, certain yellows, bright fushia

The Tools:

Plastic or Metal? Bamboo or wood? all but prefer the exotic hard woods, addis & knit pick needles
Circs or Straights? circs
DPNs or Magic Loop? DPNs
Are there any knitting accessories you don't have in your collection but would like?

Do you collect anything (other than yarn and knitting toys of course)? tea tins, teas, penguins, tea pots, nautical type stuff
When is your birthday? (month and day is fine!) Sept 12th
Do you spin? Dye your own yarn? yes & yes
Your favorite author/band/vacation spot, anything you think will help your pal know you better... have been admiring Barbara Walker but don't own any of her books, as well as A Gathering of Lace

Knitters Tea Swap

prefer black tea, russian caravan, european teas, some green/herbal or anything good really.....not to fussy so don't worry about that. Drink both loose & bags. Have started collecting neat tea tins

hmm treats chocolate is good...;o) not picky

yarn who can be choosy, I'm easy...Love STR but who can be choosey it's all yarn right,

I'd love to try some of the Fleece Artist

don't care for scratchy type wools they do make my skin red and itchy....

Candy Swap

Location (please indicate candy-melting or -freezing seasons): winter months nov-mar possibly freeze but thats ok with me, summer months late June-Aug possibly could melt but the way Yankee New England weather anything is possible, one never knows, it’s raining/snowing on half my road or even in front on my house and in the back yard the sun is shining very bright! Anyone in the area can understand the unpredicability around here, usually less harsh winter here along the Cape Cod Canal! ;o)) If wrapped I can refrig too….;o)) past couple years summers have been preety mild

Are you willing to send to an international candy swapper? Yes,love int’l candy!

CHOCOLATE:

Milk or dark? Dark (but also enjoy milk too)

Nuts? Sometimes not a lot (medical reasons but I do eat them anyway just not a lot at once) suffer after the fact on occaision shhhh!)

Flavors/fillings you like mixed with your chocolate (e.g., caramel, cinnamon, ginger, coconut): those liquor mon cherries for example but not available in the US ;o(((

Flavors/fillings you detest mixed with your chocolate: not sure (not crazy about white chocolate eat once in a while

Do you have a chocolate staple (i.e., chocolate that you always keep on hand): lindt truffles or something whatever DH brings home or I pick up, but usually doesn’t last long

Favorite mass market chocolate treat: baci sp? , Lindt, Aero and flake chocolate

Least favorite mass market chocolate treat: white

Favorite holiday/seasonal chocolate: buck eyes! Took a liking to ribbon candy recently

Favorite fancy chocolate treat: dipped strawberries

Most overrated fancy chocolate treat/chocolatier: fanny farmer & godiva there good but so overrated I think

Any chocolate you've been yearning to try? Not sure, I’m sure I haven’t tried everything, never tried fondue types

OTHER CANDIES:

Favorite non-chocolate candy: chocolate covered strawberries,

Do you like sour candy? Hot candy? Hard candies? Chewy candies? Sometimes, not to much, sometimes, on a rare occasion

Do you have a favorite candy of all time? Kisses, areo, flake, lindts, are just a few but no reall all time favorites

Do you have a current candy obsession? Not really

Do you have any food/candy allergies? Not yet but not a lot of nuts, to much does do a job on my stomach

Do you have a favorite candy memory you'd like to share (you can just mention some favorite candies from your childhood if you wish)? Penny candy, the red lip stick candy, old fashion sugar free hard candies that were the shape of like the inside of a bottle cap (don’t think there are the same any more and only because my father was a diabetic did I form a liking to them of course I prefer the sugar) flavored tootsies, I know theres more but I can’t think of them all
